Dr. Michael Dowling, DC is a 1987 graduate (cum laude) of Palmer College of Chiropractic, in Davenport Iowa. He earned his postgraduate board certification as a sports physician in 1994 from the National College of Chiropractic. Originally growing up in New York, Dr. Dowling received his bachelor’s degree from Cortland State University in upstate New York. As an avid athlete playing both soccer and lacrosse in college, his first five years after graduating from Cortland State he was a high school teacher, as well as the head varsity coach of the soccer, swimming, and lacrosse teams prior to returning back to school to pursue his Doctor of Chiropractic degree.
Moving to the Seattle metropolitan area in 1988, he first began practicing in the Greenwood neighborhood in Seattle. In 1991 he moved to Kirkland, opening the Kirkland Family Chiropractic Center, where he has been ever since.
Dr. Dowling volunteers as a lacrosse coach at a local high school, and among his interests beyond sports related injuries and performance issues, he has co-authored several publications on topics including the lower back, shoulder, elbow, and wrist. He is also serves on several boards, including being the Chairman of Washington State Department of Labor and Industries Chiropractic Advisory Board since 2004, and the Watson Center for Brain Health and TBI, in Redmond Washington.
